The job requires a strong analytical, constructive and evaluative thinking ability especially in the light of integrated oil and gas operations as the flow and process streams of gas is more complex and the integrated production system configuration must be maintained to ensure proper allocation of sales, utilizations and disposals to producing/injecting conduit intervals for all streams (Oil/water/Gas/Gas Lift).
Since the Hydrocarbon Allocation role/function interfaces with many others namely, Production Operations, Production Programming, Production Technology, Reservoir / Surveillance Engineer, Process / Facilities / Maintenance / Technical Integrity Engineers, Production Chemists, HSE and Company Management. The Hydrocarbon Allocation Engineer should be a seasoned production operations engineer with a good depth of knowledge and experience in Surface Production Operations, production planning and programming and produced fluids sampling and metering.
Roles and responsibilities
- Sub-process owner (Gas) for -SPDC SOX (404) F2 – Hydrocarbon Allocation Process.
- Support engineer for Global process 15 implementation (Hydrocarbon Production Information Management).
- Company Production Process support (Gas) for introduction of new systems (e.g. Energy Components) and future upgrades.
- Responsible for the overall QA/QC process of SPDC Gas Production and sales data. Ensure area teams take corrective action for erroneous data.
- Support the corporate gas allocation team to assume full responsibility for gas allocation in SPDC’s integrated oil and gas production business
- Make input to the gas administration and sales requirement for new hydrocarbon allocation software package. Ensure all functional requirements are adequately covered
- Make input to the gas metering philosophy
- Support the condensate and gas allocation and reporting process
- Provide input into gas metering requirements for new projects and ensure compliance
- Liaise with gas customers and government gas companies on allocation issues
- Provide input into new gas sales and handling agreements and manage same
- Co-custodian of gas production and disposal data
- Gas production performance information reporting to internal & external stakeholders
Qualification and Experience
- Tthat the incumbent for this position would be an Engineering/Science graduate with about 8 years Production Operations experience of which about 5 years must have been spent in field operations. Experience in Production Programming or Hydrocarbon Accounting role would be an added advantage.
