Roles and responsibilities
- Upgrade all obsolete DCS and Instrument field systems and revamp vandalized CAO/SCADA facilities.
- Implement the 3- level support model after aligning it with the existing Production maintenance Strategy
- Provide necessary IC&A discipline resources to undertake the FEED portfolio of development projects in SPDC and SNEPCO if necessary through working with outside Contractors
- Quality control and assure the output from discipline members in the ROCI team.
- CAO/SCADA & RTO Discipline input into Project Specifications generation
- Manage the interface between SPDC activities and those of the Contractor.
- Review Contractors’ HSE and Quality Plans to ensure compliance with legislation and applicable SPDC/Group Engineering Standards and procedures.
- Identify and evaluate hazards and risks for the CAO/SCADA projects.
- Implement recommendations from VARs, Environmental Impact Assessment reports.
- Utilize best practice within discipline by keeping abreast of developments within discipline both in SCIN and the Shell Group.
- Provide IC&A discipline input for the creation of cost and schedule activities in ROCI
Qualification and Experience
- At least a University degree in a relevant field in Science or Engineering
- Work experience 8- 10 years experience
- Proven management experience in technical and operational environments. A natural change agent and minimum of 10 years experience in oil & gas production planning & operations.
- A fine blend and combination of skills in Operations management, Production Engineering, Control and Automation, IT, facilities integration, and change management is required.
- Experiences and broad understanding of project management, production engineering, production systems, development engineering, and sub surface processes will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Open Systems technologies in IT required to tie together disparate systems in IT, Automation Process Control, and Data Acquisition System.
- Experience in the use of Shell Project Management Methodologies; with excellent inter-personal, negotiating skills and leadership skills.
- Experience with development and implementation of project management processes, i.e. contract management, procurement, project accounting, document and resource management etc.
- Excellent communication skills (i.e. strong listening, report writing and presentation) and ability to influence without direct authority. A natural change agent and able to develop and manage a network of change agents
- Ability to deliver results; Skills in managing and participating in cross-cultural and multi-discipline environment; Ability to manage delivery through service contractors and specialists
