Job Title: Poultry Farm Manager

Location: Abia

The successful candidate will report to the company's directors and will be responsible for the following activities:

• Maintaining the welfare of the birds and ensuring that the birds achieve the required market weight within a given timeframe
• Planning production to maintain farm progress against budgeted parameters;
• Keeping accurate records and ensuring timely reporting to the directors.
• Managing the feed production process and formulating feed to achieve desired outcome.
• Carrying out practical activities, e.g. operating machinery, feeding livestock, vaccinating etc. Copied from: hotnigerianjobs.com
• Managing the production process and waste material from the production process.
• Logistics management: Ensuring that raw materials are available at all times;
• Arranging the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment;
• Training staff, mentoring and monitoring them;
• Knowledge of pest and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them;
• Applying health and safety standards across the farm estate.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Good oral communication, presentation skills and written English.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in poultry farm
• Good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
• Degree in Animal Science or equivalent discipline
• Good business planning and management skills.
