Etisalat Nigeria is recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: Senior Engineer.PS Core
        
Location: Abuja,NG

Job Summary        
Perform PS end-to-end troubleshooting, conduct packet core health checks, carry out end-to-end KPI analyses, monitor all data related links and ensure the effective implementation, maintenance and operations of packet switch nodes    
    
Principal Functions        

• Supervise the integration of new SGSN/ GGSN nodes and ensure effective acceptance of the nodes
• Ensure prompt resolution of international roaming data challenges within stipulated timelines
• Monitor all data service links (Gi, Gp and Blackberry)
• Co-ordinate the integration of new BSC and RNC to the packet nodes
• Follow up daily on major data network activities to ensure fault-free operations
• Perform impact analysis of software upgrades for SGSN/ GGSN nodes and provide necessary recommendations
• Co-ordinate the routine maintenance of packet switches in line with standard policies and procedures
• Supervise all CRs implemented by EOT team on packet nodes
• Ensure effective analyses of packet performance reports and proactively resolve any challenges
• Ensure daily monitoring of alarms generated from the packet nodes and resolve promptly
• Supervise configuration of Huawei routers and switches as deployed in the network
• Ensure effective implementation of firewalls in the packet domain, including championing adherence to security policies
• Ensure that PS core nodes  availability targets are achieved
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager-Carrier and Data Services     

Requirements        

• First degree or equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or any other relevant discipline
• Professional certifications in packet core-related fields will provide an advantage

Experience,Skills & Competencies        

• Between three (3) and five (5) years  directly relevant post-NYSC work experience on packet core

Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Sound understanding of GPRS (SGSN/ GGSN) operations with focus on troubleshooting/ fault analysis and performance reporting/ analysis
• Good knowledge of IP networks with emphasis on both Cisco and Huawei routers and switches
• Knowledge of MS-Excel application for reporting
• Good presentation skills
