The Capital Project Services team advises governments and businesses in the delivery of complex capital projects and programs. As part of our team, you will provide expertise to clients on the design and delivery of transformative projects, program and commercial management approaches, and optimization of capital and infrastructure projects while ensuring project success, within constrained budgets or through challenging situations. You will work across many sectors providing services throughout the project life cycle from project feasibility, governance, infrastructure and procurement, construction readiness, project execution and readiness for operations.
As a CP&I Manager you will manage teams of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues across the lifecycle of capital and infrastructure projects. We help our clients plan, finance, manage, and deliver large-scale capital-intensive infrastructure projects. As part of the team, you will work with our clients throughout the full lifecycle of infrastructure project by combining our team’s complementary skill sets to help our clients make a difference and deliver sustainable value.
Drive Capital Project & Infrastructure business development and execution initiatives in Nigeria.
Deepen our Capital Projects & Infrastructure advisory capabilities
Establish, deepen and expand relationships with significant public and private players across the capital projects and infrastructure value chain
Manage the delivery of infrastructure projects
Develop and keep up to date with our Consulting & Risk Services go to market strategy for capital projects and infrastructure with a focus on sustainable infrastructure delivery
Identify the potential client universe within the industry value chain (public and private institutions)
Originate, structure, coordinate and execute capital projects and infrastructure engagements
Project viability assessment /business model development & validation for projects, including preparation of feasibility studies, business plans etc.
Stakeholder assessment / management and project risk assessment/ resource allocation
Value analysis / financial analysis (including financial model development)
Project finance structuring & capital raising advisory support
Procurement strategy / contracting / negotiation support
Project management and governance support
Develop and maintain very deep understanding of lines of service, “local” Consulting & Risk Services competency offerings, Africa Advisory capabilities / specializations and Global Advisory capabilities within the context of the CP&I services delivery.
Collaboration with ALL advisory competencies and lines of services (locally and globally) in leading the client engagement, project origination and delivery
Develop and deliver “distinctive value / perspective” for capital projects & infrastructure space
Effectively drive people development and manage the team to provide exceptional service
Develop industry specific training modules and deploy accordingly (training sessions)
Act as role model by engaging staff through mentoring / coaching and counselling
Support leadership in building and maintaining a pipeline of competent staff in the Capital Project & Infrastructure team
Assist with developing or updating firm methodologies regarding infrastructure services delivery
Ensure teams follow risk management policies and standards on engagement delivery in accordance with firm’s policy
Lead and report on industry engagement economics & metrics
Build good cross line of services (XLOS), cross competency (X-competency) and cross geography (X-geography) relationships, and support key internal roles by aiding them to meet the firm’s objectives.
Minimum Education & Years of Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering or related field
Master’s degree in business or finance related field is a plus
Professional qualifications like CFA (added advantage), ICAN/ACCA (required), PMP certification (required) etc.
At least 6 years' work experience is required with 2 years spent at Manager level
Track record of advising on significant energy projects - experience across power, refineries and petrochemicals will be a distinct advantage
Experience in a senior role or relevant experience in a senior management role in a large/global or fast-growing organization
Preference will be given to candidates who have practical industry experience combined with experience in consulting, investment banking or private equity
Experience in building and maintaining strong relations with senior level clients in both the private and public sector
Must have significant emerging markets experience - preference will be given to candidates with advisory/consulting experience on large scale infrastructure projects in Nigeria / West Africa
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading projects and diverse teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
