The Technical Sales Manager – Marine Paints is responsible for driving sales growth, providing technical support, and managing key customer relationships within the marine coatings sector. This role involves developing business strategies, offering technical solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through expert guidance on product selection, application, and performance.
Job Responsibilities
To facilitate FRT in development of sales strategy/policy, processes and procedure. To manage the implementation of all the relevant applicable SOP's. To ensure sales transactions are executed as per given prices and policies.
To monitor various projects progress, identify new project opportunities and share regular update with FRT/ART.
Identify and develop new business opportunities in the marine coatings market.
Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, shipyards and other key stakeholders.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop sales strategies.
Provide technical guidance on marine paint products, including surface preparation, application techniques, and performance expectations in consultation with the Technical Team.
Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers and applicators along with the Training & Technical Team.
Address technical issues related to coatings, troubleshooting problems, and recommending solutions.
Ensure compliance with international marine coating standards (IMO, ISO, etc.).
Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
To make regular customer visit for sales development and facilitate customers for various projects and probabilities to boost sales.
To deal with customer grievances and follow-up with technical team for resolution and various customer trials analysis and support.
To coordinate with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of interaction and transaction.
To focus actively on Key Accounts and seek support from various functional team/management where appropriate to ensure prompt solution to their satisfaction.
To build accurate and detailed profiling for the key accounts to explore new business opportunities.
To prepare and recommend sales budget and monitor financial performance verses the budget to ensure business alignment.
To monitor stock inventories in alignment with the budget and re-order level for product as well as packaging.
To develop second line successor and drive performance through team to take up higher challenges.
To prepare all applicable reports in time for accuracy and in order to ensure that they match the functional requirements, policies and standards.
Job Requirements
Experience in B2B Marketing and leading a team
B.Sc / B.Tech – Chemistry/Chemical Engr. PG Qualification will be preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum of 5 + Years of Experience in selling paints & providing technical service to the Marine Protection and Oil & gas sector.
Good knowledge about the various coatings their specifications, application etc.
Prior experience with leading marine coatings brands.
Knowledge of international shipping and ship maintenance practices.
Salary
N700,000 monthly net.
