Job Title: Business Manager (Facilities Management)
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and driven Facilities Management Business Manager to lead and grow our facilities management operations.
This role combines strategic business planning, client relationship management, and operational oversight to ensure high-quality service delivery, client satisfaction, and financial performance across multiple sites or portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Management & Business Development:
Drive growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the facilities management sector.
Develop pricing strategies, proposals, and pitches for prospective clients.
Contribute to strategic planning and business expansion goals.
Operations Oversight:
Supervise daily operations across all managed properties, ensuring delivery of services such as maintenance, cleaning, security, landscaping, waste management, and utilities.
Develop and enforce SOPs and KPIs for performance monitoring and service excellence.
Client Relationship Management:
Act as the primary contact for key clients and ensure customer satisfaction through regular reviews, reporting, and issue resolution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including landlords, tenants, vendors, and contractors.
Financial & Budgetary Control:
Prepare, manage, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for facilities management operations.
Ensure profitability through cost control, procurement optimization, and effective contract management.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a cross-functional team of site managers, engineers, technicians, and support staff.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure all sites are audit-ready.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or business development role.
Proven ability to manage large teams and multiple client accounts.
Strong commercial acumen and experience with budget control and P&L management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Professional certification (e.g., IFMA, BIFM, PMP, or NEBOSH) is an added advantage
Familiarity with CAFM software and property maintenance systems
Experience with contract negotiation and service level agreements (SLAs)
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
