Job brief

• We are looking for an analytical, results-driven back-end developer to join a newly set-up software development team. 
• Our business focus is on building enterprise software applications for clients.
• Job owner will use his or her understanding of programming languages and tools to analyse current codes and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create more seamless experience for client users.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
• Actively participate in the overall application lifecycle.
• Focus on coding and debugging.
• Define and communicate technical and design requirements.
• Build a high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future.
• Create sustainable and functional web applications with clean code.
• Learn about new technologies and stay up to date with current best practices.
• Conduct UI tests and optimize performance.
• Deliver APIs that make it easy for developers (internal and external) to interact with our platform.
• Participate in troubleshooting complex issues and resolving defects in services.
• Come up with highly creative and cost-effective ways to solve business problems with bespoke solutions.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years working in a software development team with proven understanding of enterprise application development from business requirements to production stage.
• Hands-on backend web development experience.
• Proficient knowledge of a backend programming language, including TypeScript & JavaScript, and an in-depth understanding of web development.
• Knowledgeable of backend technologies such as NestJS and ExpressJS.
• Knowledgeable of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Good understanding of server-side CSS pre-processors.
• Proven experience creating user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
• Capability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system.
• Proven experience managing a hosting environment that includes database administration and scaling an application to support load changes.
• You have experience working with Relational Database Systems (MySQL, Postgres, etc.) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
• You have a solid understanding of object-oriented (OO) analysis and design principles and demonstrate proficiency/expert knowledge in OO design.
• You have experience working with Git for version control and a good grasp of various Git flows.
• Ability to set up and administer backups, data migration, transformation, and scripting.
• Knowledgeable of OWASP security principles.

Salary
N250,000 / Month.
