Job Title: Senior Reservoir Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Schedule: Full-time
Purpose
Provide effective reservoir management of the producing reservoirs.
To provide reservoir engineering input and leadership for projects from initial opportunity identification to cessation of production, including selection and definition of development plans.
Ensures integration of subsurface and surface parameters in dynamic reservoir analysis, maximizing recovery efficiencies and optimizing production potential.
Manage reporting lines and mentor junior staff.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Technical mentorship of interns, lower cadre reservoir engineers
Scope of Responsibility & Accountability
Participate in multidisciplinary team’s field reviews and selection of quick win opportunities
Ensure EHS & regulatory compliance in production operations
Develop and Implement production enhancement strategies
Mentor young engineers and drive the creation of strategic workflows/processes.
Essential Function
Reviewing/designing, supervising, and analyzing plans and results for pressure transient tests.
Reviewing or preparing appraisal programs for reservoir engineering data (PVT, RCAL / SCAL, pressure data, well tests, MDT, etc.)
Reviewing data acquisition reports and lab reports from contractors—quality check samples & results, extract properties required for reservoir engineering studies
Developing production forecasts and predicting reservoir performance for approval of well proposals
Understand and support efforts to mitigate subsurface risk
Proposing cost-effective reservoir monitoring and surveillance programs
Perform and supervise reservoir simulation studies to test development concepts/recovery schemes and optimize recoveries
Continuously monitor reservoir performance, analyze data, and prepare reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Perform and supervise well reservoir surveillance analysis & make recommendations for optimization and proper management of reservoirs
Prepare and review written reports of reservoir performance, including explaining and presenting results
Develop and quality check reservoir performance predictions, including decline analysis and material balance on producing assets
Provide reservoir engineering input to all infill well proposals in terms of reserve calculations, opportunities, well locations, risks, and economic analysis.
Prepare and quality check forecasts for business plan and monthly production outlook
Review deterministic and probabilistic estimates of in-place hydrocarbon volume
Support reservoir related due diligence on potential farm-ins and acquisitions
Estimate and review reserves/resources associated with opportunities
Job Specification
1st Degree in Petroleum Engineering or other Engineering degree with appropriate professional experience, required
5–8 years of experience required.
Skilled in key subjects within reservoir engineering discipline, which includes but not limited to: reservoir studies, reserves estimation, well test analysis, rock and fluid properties, decline curve analysis & production forecasting, well & reservoir management, field development planning and production support activities
Skill level = Capacity to perform these duties with minimal supervision
Experience with material balance and reservoir simulation required
Experience using standard Reservoir Engineering software, particularly: OFM, MBAL / PROSPER / GAP, Eclipse /T Navigator, Petrel, Ecrin / Saphir
Strong Computer Skills
High skill level user of MS Office software: Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Petroleum economic skills is a plus
