Oriki Group is comprised of a wellness day spa with multiple locations, farm to skin retail products, a wholesale & amenity product line for Spa's, hotels, and airlines, a training institute and the ORIKI franchise.
The Assistant cosmetics formulator is responsible for assisting in the development, formulation and testing for the skin care products produced for Oriki and Clients of FSC Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Formulation and Research Support:
Observe and give necessary inputs on all present production processes in place to ensure it is up to international standard
Develop and formulate different skin care products for various skin types as required
Test already produced skin care products for safety and durability
Conduct detailed research on trends in the wellness industry and give reports and suggestions to management on ideal ways to stay abreast of new development without compromising our standards
Ensure all clients sample formulation products are made accurately and promptly
Analyse trends and metrics as it concerns skin care products
Liaise with production manager and cost accountant to ensure all the ingredients needed for sample formulations are available
Make constant research on skin care and facial products that could be formulated for the brand
Make and submit detailed reports as required
Assist in house training on product formulation and adequate research for production team
Production Support:
Assist in the production of signature spa grade products and highly effective problem-solving products
Provide skin analysis and consultation services as required
Prepare regular reports on expenses and production budgets
Maintain and update company databases
Coordinate production assistant and other junior staff efficiently
Assist the Production assistant with procurement of the necessary ingredients needed for production and vendor management
Assist in the production Associate to ensure sanitary manufacturing conditions during production processes to avoid contaminations or mistakes
Be actively involved in quality control of mass production
Carry out all other production tasks as instructed by the production manager.
Therapist Management:
Educating the therapists on newly created products, active ingredients and how to use them properly
Weekly follow up meeting with the In-spa trainer on product use and feedback for necessary adjustments
Assist in the training for skin and product consultation as required
Help in creating necessary documentations for training and referral purposes.
Qualifications
BA or B.Sc Degree in Microbiology or a related discipline
Relevant postgraduate and or professional qualification would be added advantage.
Must possess 2 - 3 years’ work experience in relevant field.
Solid knowledge of office procedures
Experience with producing skin products for brands.
