About the Role
We are looking for a Program Associate, Climate & Energy Innovation to play a pivotal role in the delivery of our ecoWise Demonstration Project.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to work at the intersection of climate innovation, energy access, and stakeholder engagement, with significant potential to grow into a full time leadership role.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, can manage complexity with clarity and confidence, and has the initiative to lead cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals.
Your Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Operations:
Support day-to-day operations across the ecoWise project workstreams
Overseeing project documentation, reporting, and internal communication
Ensure effective monitoring and reporting of project milestones and outcomes
Manage logistics for major events such as webinars, demo days, and the multistakeholder forum
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
Lead communication logistics for multi-stakeholder engagements
Coordinate partnerships with associations, embassies, partners, and mini-grid developers
Manage internal and external communication, ensuring transparency and alignment
Oversee project content, including videos, photography, and blog posts documenting the project journey
Develop and execute effective communication strategies, including messaging, timelines, and stakeholder segmentation
Handle social media updates, press releases, and community engagement
Event Planning & Logistics:
Lead planning and logistics for stakeholder events, including webinars, and demos
Manage the integration of ecoWise hardware, certification testing, and site visits for data collection
Team Management & Reporting:
Track timelines and deliverables, ensuring the team meets project deadlines
Prepare project updates, progress reports, and final documentation for stakeholders
Supporting internal team check-ins, milestone tracking, and preparing project updates, reports, and final documentation.
Requirements
Experience:
Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
2–4 years of experience in project coordination, communications, or operations (bonus if in clean energy or sustainability)
2-4 years of experience in project or operations management, solar PV space is a plus.
Proven ability to work with high-level stakeholders (government, private sector, embassies)
Experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects or development-sector projects
Skills & Attributes:

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
Ability to manage multiple priorities
High emotional intelligence and ability to adapt communication styles as needed
Strong understanding of Nigeria’s energy landscape, especially around mini-grids and innovation deployment (desired)
Hands-on approach to operational delivery across technical, communications, and event workstreams
Ability to manage Gantt charts, progress trackers, and team dashboards
Familiarity with SDG reporting frameworks, ESG concepts, and donor impact reporting
Comfortable working with tools like Google workspace, Notion, Trello, or similar
Experience leading diverse, remote teams and cross-functional collaborations
Technical & Sector Knowledge:
Familiarity with solar PV and mini-grid ecosystems
Understanding of certification processes (NEMSA, MANCAP) and regulatory environments (desirable)
Experience engaging with embassies, energy associations, or international partners

Salary
