Job Title: Manager, Technical Project
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
As our Manager, Technical Projects, you will be responsible for providing project planning and management of our solar power and storage systems deployment, ensuring that projects are completed to specification, within an established time frame and budget.
You will manage and lead the project team to achieve actionable results and position Arnergy as a leading brand in the industry.
Responsibilities
You will:
Lead the planning, design, and execution of solar projects for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
Develop comprehensive project strategies, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk management plans to meet revenue and profitability targets.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution from initiation to completion.
Prepare regular status reports, including progress updates, risks, and corrective actions for stakeholders.
Provide technical expertise in the design and integration of solar PV systems, inverters, hybrid systems, and battery storage solutions.
Conduct site assessments to determine feasibility, system sizing, and optimal solar installations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead client meetings to understand requirements, present project progress, and address concerns proactively.
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment of project goals.
Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
Track project expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure projects remain within budget constraints.
Prepare detailed project reports, including status updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments for senior management.
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure solar installations meet regulatory standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications, safety guidelines, and performance benchmarks.
Oversee commissioning, testing, and system handover to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, and technicians to ensure project success.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development within the project management team.
Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and facilitate skill development for team members.
Drive innovation by implementing new methodologies, tools, and technologies to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.
Lead post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.
Requirements and Skills
You’ll be a good fit for this role if:
You have excellent understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods
You have experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting teamwork mentality
You currently lead technical project designs, run root cause analysis and provide technical project-based solutions in a telco, energy or utility sector. You lead from the front.
You get things done; you are an execution expert with relevant certifications.
You have a background in computer/electrical/mechanical engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. You are an engineer at heart and in practice.
You have deployed, supported or managed projects, scaling over 20,000 customers/service nodes.
You are hard as nails - you don’t take no for an answer, you are also very empathetic, understanding people need time to adapt.
Customers love you; you are really good with people; you work well with people - you are the life of the party.
You are proactive, and on point. You are excellence-personified.
You have hands-on experience with electricity.
You are on top of your game, ideally you are a sector thought leader.
You have sound commercial acumen, with a data driven approach to decision making - experience with P&L is desirable.
