Job Title: Project Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
As our Project Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all solar energy projects meet quality standards, industry regulations, and company specifications.
This role involves conducting inspections, implementing quality control processes, identifying non-conformities, and driving continuous improvement to ensure the reliability and efficiency of solar power installations.
Responsibilities
You will:
Develop and implement quality control procedures for solar PV system installations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, SON, NERC) and internal policies.
Conduct pre-installation, in-progress, and post-installation inspections of solar systems.
Perform tests on electrical, mechanical, and structural components to verify functionality.
Identify non-conformities, document defects, and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and quality reports.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, contractors, suppliers, and regulators to ensure quality execution.
Conduct regular audits and surveillance of contractor quality control programs.
Recommend process improvements and contribute to the design and specification review process.
Support project teams by troubleshooting system performance issues and suggesting mitigation strategies.
Train field teams and contractors on quality standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
Requirements & Skills
You’re a strong candidate if you:
Have a Degree in computer, electrical, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Bring 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, project inspection, or solar PV system evaluation.
Are familiar with solar inverters, charge controllers, battery storage, and energy management systems.
Hold Quality Assurance/Control certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
Understand solar PV technology, electrical standards, and quality control methodologies.
Are skilled with testing tools used for electrical and mechanical system evaluation.
Have a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and defects.
Have a collaborative mindset and experience in team-oriented environments.
Excel at execution and bring a solutions-driven approach to your work.
Are persistent but empathetic—you get things done and understand people.
Communicate effectively and are great with people—you’re the spark in every room.
Stay sharp and proactive—you embody excellence.
