Job Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager at Sa’i’anwara’I’jumai Consultaire Limited (SCL) will lead the development and implementation of quality assurance systems across the regenerative agriculture value chain-from sustainable on-farm practices to eco-friendly processing and ethical sales.
The QA Manager will ensure that every aspect of our production lifecycle aligns with regenerative agriculture principles, regulatory requirements, and high-quality standards that promote environmental health, social responsibility, and economic viability.
Design and implement quality assurance frameworks that align with SCL’s Agricore and Regenerative Agricultural Methods, ensuring alignment with ecological, food safety, and organic certification standards.
Monitor compliance with national and international standards for soil health, biodiversity, input use, carbon sequestration, and eco-labelling.
Conduct regular audits of farm operations, post-harvest handling, processing units, packaging, and distribution channels.
Maintain detailed documentation to meet compliance and traceability requirements across the full value chain.
Product & Service Quality Monitoring:
Oversee the testing and verification of regenerative farm outputs, processed products, and agroecological inputs.
Implement quality control protocols that reflect organic integrity, fair trade principles, and sustainable packaging.
Track quality metrics from production to sales, ensuring transparency and consumer confidence.
Training & Capacity Building:
Train farmers, field officers, processors, and sales teams in regenerative quality assurance practices, including composting, crop rotation, zero-chemical use, and eco-certification requirements.
Collaborate with the Farm-Farmer School to develop learning modules on value chain quality, ethical sourcing, and regenerative processing techniques.
Process Improvement & Risk Management:
Identify and implement process improvements that enhance soil regeneration, minimise input waste, and improve product shelf life sustainably.
Evaluate risks related to pest outbreaks, supply chain disruptions, and quality inconsistencies; devise strategies rooted in resilience and agroecological intelligence.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
Liaise with local and international certification bodies, sustainability alliances, and regenerative agriculture networks to remain compliant and innovative.
Prepare reports that measure the environmental and social impacts of production practices, as well as standard QA performance metrics.
Work closely with suppliers, off-takers, and retailers to maintain quality expectations and regenerative standards across all touchpoints.
Key Deliverables for this role
Below are strategic deliverables for the role (this would be finalized with supervisor)
SCL Regenerative QA Framework aligned with organic, ecological, and food safety standards.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inspection, grading, and testing of farm and processed products.
QA training modules for regenerative farmers, processors, and sales teams, co-branded with the Farm-Farmer School
Process Improvement Plan identifying areas for optimization (e.g., compost quality, packaging sustainability, waste reduction).
Risk Register identifying key QA vulnerabilities (e.g., pest outbreaks, contamination risks) with mitigation strategies and response plans.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
5-8 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within the agro-allied sector.
Strong knowledge of agricultural standards, food safety regulations, and best practices.
Experience in conducting audits, inspections and implementing quality control systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities to train and guide teams.
Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
