Job Title: Nutrition Supervisor

Job Description
Ensure the implementation of all nutritional related activities of the programme and coordinate and manage the team under his/her responsibility according to the MSF protocols in order to improve the nutritional conditions of the target population.
General Accountabilities
Plan and oversee all nutrition-related activities, including staffing, budgeting, and service quality in line with MSF protocols.
Supervise and support nutrition team recruitment, training, and performance in coordination with HR.
Monitor implementation of outpatient nutrition programs, patient progress, referrals, and adherence to medical and nutritional protocols.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment and that staff are well trained.
Supervise hygiene and nursing care standards.
Ensure mothers understand their role in their child’s care (feeding, hygiene, etc.).
Work closely with the pharmacy team to manage nutrition stock levels and avoid shortages.
Oversee data collection, compile statistics, and share reports with the team and line manager.
MSF Specific Context Accountabilities
Oversee nutrition care for severe acute malnutrition patients at Noma Children’s Hospital and the In-Patient Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ITFC), ensuring adherence to MSF protocols.
Conduct nutrition assessments upon patient admission and manage their nutritional and health needs throughout treatment.
Participate in daily ward rounds with medical doctors to assess patients and develop management plans.
Ensure proper implementation of treatment plans, including nutrition support, rehydration, and hygiene practices.
Train, supervise, and support the nutrition team, including nursing assistants and kitchen staff, to maintain high-quality care standards.
Ensure adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols and universal precautions by all nutrition team members.
Educate and counsel patients and their families on nutritional issues, ensuring mothers are informed about their roles during hospitalization.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is essential. Diploma in Nutrition is desirable.
Experience: Minimum 2 year experience as Nutrition Nurse.
