Job Description
We are hiring a proactive and detail-oriented Air Cargo Operations Coordinator to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of international air cargo shipments.
This includes shipments from Lagos to Canada, the USA, the UK, as well as from Canada to Lagos and express shipments.
The ideal candidate will ensure seamless customer service, accurate documentation, timely processing, and efficient coordination of all shipment-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Coordination:
Promptly attend to walk-in customers, addressing inquiries and ensuring excellent service delivery.
Ensure all shipments picked up or dropped off (by pick-up assistant, driver, or dispatch) are documented, inspected, weighed, and packaged within 24 hours of arrival.
Notify customers when their shipment is processed and ready for payment.
Maintain accurate and complete customer contact details for effective communication.
Shipment Processing & Documentation:
Generate and send customer invoices promptly and update payment status on internal tracking sheets.
Safely store received items while awaiting the scheduled shipping day.
Maintain detailed documentation of all shipments, including total weight, client count, and airway bills.
Submit daily reports for each destination indicating total weight, number of clients, and box count.
Within 24 hours of dispatching shipments to the airport, prepare a summary report on the airway bill.
Shipping Logistics & Airport Coordination:
On shipping days, coordinate with the driver to ensure timely delivery of cargo to the airport.
Supervise the inspection, documentation, and weighing of boxes at the airport to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Monitor incoming shipments from Canada to Lagos, coordinate pickup from the agent's office, and facilitate prompt delivery to customers or through the dispatch team.
Ensure effective communication with customers on shipment updates and delivery schedules.
Post-Shipment Support:
Follow up on deliveries to confirm receipt and condition of items.
Address any issues or concerns raised by customers regarding delivered shipments.
Requirements
Minimum of a High School Diploma; a Degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is an added advantage.
2–5 years of experience in air cargo operations, logistics, or customer service.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in logistics/inventory management software is a plus.
Knowledge of air cargo regulations and best practices.
Working Schedule:
Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Salary
N2,040,000 per annum (N170,000 monthly)
