Position Overview

• The AV System Designer for Residential & Workspace AV will specialize in the engineering, design, and documentation of advanced AV systems following the sale. 
• This role demands an individual who is technically adept, artistically inclined, and deeply knowledgeable about the latest trends in AV and automation technology. 
• The candidate will also be responsible for liaising with industry partners to analyze clients' AV needs and recommend tailor-made solutions for home automation, home cinema, and AV collaboration in residential and office workspaces. 
• The candidate will be instrumental in designing and conducting Pre-sales AV Experience design training sessions for System Integrators and industry partners, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge to deliver exceptional AV solutions. 
• The candidate will also oversee the engineering team to ensure quality control and experience assurance throughout all project phases.

Core Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design documentation, including first-fix rough-in drawings, schematic drawings, rack elevation drawings, lighting control schematics, acoustic design construction drawings and system integration details tailored to residential and workspace environments.
• Ensure that designs meet both technical and aesthetic requirements specific to residential and workspace AV environments.
• Work closely with clients and project managers to translate post-sales agreements into actionable, high-quality engineering designs.
• Oversee the implementation of designs on-site, ensuring fidelity to the project's specifications and industry best practices.
• Design and facilitate engaging AV Experience design training sessions for System Integrators and industry partners post-sale.
• Develop clear and comprehensive training presentations that effectively communicate the nuances of AV system integration.
• Create training materials that stay up-to-date with current AV technologies and methodologies.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the seamless translation of design concepts into installed systems.
• Provide ongoing support to System Integrators and industry partners, ensuring high-quality project execution.
• Create cutting-edge AV system designs, including device placement drawings, acoustic room treatments, 3D impressions, and renders.
• Design and deliver Pre-sales AV Experience design training sessions for System Integrators and industry partners.
• Craft engaging training presentations that effectively communicate design concepts and practices.
• Develop training materials that align with the latest trends in AV technology.
• Liaise with industry partners to analyze clients' AV needs and recommend tailor-made solutions.
• Craft state-of-the-art AV system designs including device placement drawings, acoustic room treatments, 3D impressions, and renders.
• Deliver dynamic sales presentations that highlight the unique benefits of HAUSBA’s integrated solutions for both living spaces and workspaces.
• Develop architectural lighting designs, detailed equipment lists (BoM), scope of work documentation, proposal quotations, and lighting control schedules.
• Utilize Autocad/Revit CAD software to generate accurate design schematics.
• Engage with industry partners to assess client requirements and propose customized AV and automation solutions.
• Stay current with evolving AV technology trends, maintaining certifications in the AVIXA design track.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Precision and detail orientation in engineering design documentation.
• Effectiveness of training programs as reflected in the feedback from System Integrators and industry partners.
• Successful implementation of designs by System Integrators, with minimal discrepancies between design documents and installed systems.
• Client satisfaction with the functionality and aesthetics of completed projects.

Requirements
Qualifications:

• A background in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong preference for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Extensive experience in post-sales engineering design consulting within the AV industry.
• Proficiency in Autocad/Revit CAD software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise technical teams with a focus on quality assurance.
• Industry certifications such as AVIXA's CTS or CTS-D are preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop training content and conduct educational sessions.
