Job Purpose
The Candidate will provide an effective petrophysical service for data acquisition, interpretation and evaluation of electric log (LWD and Wireline) and core data and the construction and update of petrophysical models for operated and non-operated assets in exploration, appraisal and development wells.
He/she will be responsible for wellsite operations, formation evaluation and data acquisition and processing.

Major Responsibility Areas
Prepare, supervise and quality control cost-effective logging and coring programs and ensure best working practices (state of the art) techniques are applied.
Quality Control petrophysical data to ensure that data are correctly processed and presented in a suitable format by contractor companies for in-house interpretation.
Conduct or quality control petrophysical interpretations using computer software applications (workstation and PC based), to quantify the petrophysical characteristics of the reservoirs and to improve knowledge of the reservoirs and to quantify reserves estimates and reservoir performance.
Construct, maintain, and update petrophysical models.
Undertake petrophysical data analysis and interpretations of open and cased hole data on wells in fields.
Contribute to the setup of saturation height models, including estimations for fluid contacts and free-water levels.
Identify and appraise the main uncertainties of petrophysical content in reservoir models and mitigate their associated risks to business projects and relevant decisions by addressing them with appropriate appraisal measures.
Support petrophysical log and core data evaluations by incorporating relevant reservoir-geology content.
Characterize and delineate petrophysical facies types and assess their relation to litho-types as well as sedimentological facies.
Effective correlations of well and generation of cross sections.
Quantify formation and fluid properties - lithology, porosity, hydrocarbon and water saturations, net sand/pay, net-to-gross, permeability, fluid type, fluid viscosity, etc.
To Work with geologists, engineers, and geological technicians to develop core, log, and fluid relationships for input into geological and reservoir models.
Participate in peer reviews and contribute to management/joint venture partner meetings.
Engage with the JV partners and local regulatory body regarding data acquisition programs and guidelines, at the planning stage and operationally.
Coach and mentor junior Petrophysicists in line with the established OER technical Career Progression Plan for Petrophysicists
Job Specification
Relevant 1st Degree in Physics, Geology, Geophysics or Petroleum Engineering.
Master’s degree is an advantage.
