About the Role

• The Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators and similar heavy equipment during site preparation, trenching, excavation, and other earth-moving activities on the AKK project.
• The operator will work closely with site engineers and supervisors to complete tasks accurately and safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to complete earthworks and site preparation activities.
• Load, move, and grade earth, rock, gravel, or other materials using the excavator.
• Dig trenches for pipelines and foundations according to project specifications.
• Perform daily safety checks and routine maintenance on the equipment.
• Ensure equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
• Follow instructions from site supervisors and engineers regarding excavation plans and site layout.
• Monitor surroundings and work zones to avoid accidents or damage to property and utilities.
• Maintain equipment logs and report any malfunctions, repairs, or concerns to the maintenance team.
• Support the team during equipment relocation, rigging, and general construction tasks when required.
• Adhere strictly to all safety, environmental, and project-specific guidelines.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating excavators on construction or oil & gas projects.
• Valid Excavator Operator Certification or license from a recognized body.
• Good understanding of excavation techniques and site safety requirements.
• Ability to read site layout drawings and follow project plans.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and situational awareness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Willingness to work in remote locations and under varying weather conditions.
