Job Title: Gas Power EHS High Risk Operations Specialist
The Gas Power Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) High-Risk Operations Specialist will be responsible for the development of processes to identify, manage and control High Risk Operations (HRO) with an emphasis on the GE Vernova Life Saving Rules across the Gas Power Businesses.
The role will be a member of the Gas Power Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Center of Excellence (COE) team working closely with the EHS value streams, supply chain operations, regional EHS leaders, and cross-functional teams.
Organizationally the role will report into the GE Vernova Gas Power EHS Procedural and Technical Excellence Leader
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide technical support, guidance, and direction on EHS High Risk Operations i.e., Confined Space Entry, Mechanical Lifting Operations, Work at Heights, Aerial Lifts & Forklifts, Machine Safety and Powered Hand-held Tools.
Develop, update, modify existing, and implement GE Vernova Gas Power EHS HRO programs and procedures to identify and control risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and meet the GE Vernova and customer expectations in support the Gas Power organization and business priorities.
Support sustainable implementation of GE Vernova Life Saving Rules.
Analyze EHS data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Develop a strategy to eliminate EHS risks based on identified trends and performance.
Support development and effective execution of the EHS Procedural and Technical Excellence teams EHS strategy.
Collaborate across multiple functions to assist in the development and implementation of programs to include change management to enhance a proactive safety culture.
Lead and contribute to incident investigation teams to ensure accurate Root Cause Analysis, robust preventative and corrective actions are identified and implemented.
Support GE Vernova Gas Power EHS read across process.
Support Gas Power in the risk-based auditing program to assess regulatory and framework compliance across the Business units.
Conduct travel to supply chain, New Units, projects and services sites to validate and support implementation of EHS High Risk Operations procedures and processes.
Utilize LEAN methodology to drive simplification and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher-level Safety Diploma from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Significant experience working in EHS High Risk Operations.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be fluent in English (verbal and written)
Must be able to travel up to 35%
Must be able to work effectively across all global time zones
USA candidates must reside in CST/EST time zones
Desired Characteristics:
Strong experience in EHS High Risk Operations.
Technical Certifications in the applicable EHS High Risk Operations.
Strong knowledge of global regulations related to EHS High Risk Operations.
Experience with procedural development and implementation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (self-starter).
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to travel globally as required.
Strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills.
