Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Lagos
Report to: Manager Safety Engineering
Job Purpose
This job is created to provide electrical discipline knowledge and experience to the ECP engineering team.
Job Dimensions
Effective and timely delivery of electrical technical deliverables.
Ensure all generated electrical deliverables meet acceptable quality.
Verify electrical engineering and design deliverables comply with Comapny general specifications and applicable project electrical specifications.
Activities
Carry out preliminary, basic, and detailed electrical engineering studies and produce associated deliverables, e.g., single line diagrams, cable schedules, cable route drawings, electrical load calculations, hazardous area drawings, MTOs, etc.
Conduct regular site visits to company assets for data gathering to be utilized for detailed electrical engineering studies.
Participate in technical review workshops like HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, and ensure that the safety requirements of COMPANY electrical general specifications and applicable project electrical specifications are met.
Provide technical support to the construction team during site installation activities by providing responses to technical queries and clarifications.
Interface with other disciplines and entities like piping, structural, instrumentation, technical projects, contracts & procurement, field operations, and provide necessary input required by these disciplines.
Review electrical discipline engineering deliverables to ensure technical quality. Review designs produced by company or contractors to ensure compliance with COMPANY electrical general specifications and applicable project electrical specifications.
Develop and contribute to equipment specifications & requisitions for procurement purposes.
Review subcontractor electrical deliverables to ensure technical quality.
Read and interpret facility engineering drawings and make necessary modifications or recommendations.
Advise ECP, FO, and other departments on electrical-related issues, including suggesting technical solutions to problems, identifying best practices, etc.
Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers of electrical and other equipment and materials to ensure technical specifications are understood and met.
Prepare and cross-check relevant procedures, international standards, and COMPANY technical specifications for application into design activities.

Constraints: mistakes and delays in design could lead to costly delays in procurement, construction, and ultimately production, which would have a serious negative impact on COMPANY assets.
Favourable factors: COMPANY assets represent technically challenging projects.
Numerous contacts with process and other discipline experts elsewhere in COMPANY and France.
Relative freedom to utilize own work methods and practices.

Compliance with ECP HSE KPI & objective and assist ECP in compliance with overall COMPANY HSE requirements.
Familiarize self with COMPANY emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely, and report any incident, unsafe act, or operation.
Qualifications / Experience Required
Minimum qualification: University Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 to 10 years’ experience in oil & gas production facilities.
Familiarity with international standards and regulations.
Teamwork, commitment to technical accuracy, ability to organize and execute works unassisted.
Use of MS-Office and AutoCAD with experience in project specifications could be an added advantage.
