Job Title: Solar Installation Engineer

About the job
As our Solar Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the execution and commissioning of solar PV and hybrid energy solutions.
The role involves managing installation projects ensuring technical compliance, coordinating with stakeholders, and delivering high-quality solar solutions on time and within budget.
You will
Handle the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV and hybrid energy systems.
Perform wiring and electrical connections following system designs and safety standards.
Ensure that all installations adhere to design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations
Work with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Conduct site assessments to determine feasibility and optimal solar installations.
Support system sizing, load analysis, and configuration of solar inverters, batteries, and PV panels.
Identify and resolve technical issues during and after installation.
Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety codes (e.g., IEC, SON, and NERC regulations).
Maintain detailed project documentation, including designs, test reports, single line diagrams, installation reports, etc.
Assist in post-installation support and troubleshooting for solar systems.
Train end-users on system operation and maintenance best practices.
Requirements
You’ll be a good fit for this role if:
You have a background in computer/electrical/mechanical engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. You are an engineer at heart and in practice.
You have 3-7 years’ hands-on experience in solar PV and hybrid system installation.
You have experience with solar inverters, charge controllers, battery storage, and energy management systems.
You have strong knowledge of electrical wiring, load analysis, and grid integration.
You have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
You have experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting teamwork mentality
You get things done; you are an execution expert with relevant certifications.
You have deployed, supported or managed projects.
You are hard as nails - you don’t take no for an answer, you are also very empathetic, understanding people need time to adapt.
