Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Role Overview
As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all financial functions of the company.
You will develop and implement robust financial strategies, manage risk, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Your leadership will empower our finance team to achieve excellence in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting—driving both lending and collections success.
You will report directly to the CEO and be a key member of the executive leadership team.
Develop and execute financial strategies that align with our business goals, supporting sustainable growth in lending and collections.
Drive strategic decision-making by providing actionable financial insights to the executive team and Board of Directors.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Optimize cash flow management, ensuring liquidity for strategic investments and operations.
Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reducing cost overruns and maximizing profitability.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Implement robust internal controls and audit mechanisms to safeguard company assets.
Team Leadership & Development:
Mentor and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Encourage professional development and create succession plans to support the evolving needs of the business.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with external partners, including banks, investors, and auditors, to build and maintain strong relationships.
Present financial performance reports and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and senior management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is highly preferred.
8-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3-5 years in a senior management role within the lending, collections, or financial services industry.
Proven track record of strategic financial leadership and operational excellence in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, risk management, and compliance standards in Nigeria.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
Experience in leading high-performing teams and driving organizational change.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.
