We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hydraulic Design Engineer 

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• We are seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer to join our team. 
• This role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing hydraulic systems for various applications. 
• The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of fluid mechanics, hydraulic components, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and piping layouts.
• Perform calculations and simulations to ensure system efficiency, performance, and safety.
• Create technical drawings and schematics using CAD software.
• Suggest appropriate hydraulic components based on system requirements.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to integrate hydraulic systems into larger projects.
• Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of hydraulic designs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Support project teams with technical expertise and provide documentation for designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related field.
• 1 –  5 years of experience in hydraulic system design or a related field.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and hydraulic system design principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Problem-solving skills with an analytical approach.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Offshore Vessel hydraulic system (ie Liftboat, Jackup Rig etc)
• Knowledge of hydraulic components, materials, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, SAE, DIN).
• Experience with hydraulic modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or CFD software).
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic testing and troubleshooting.
