The Dog Food Shop Limited is a bulk distribution / retail project for food and non-food products for pet animals.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Retail Shop Supervisor

Location: Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Spearhead online marketing and sales activities for the assigned retail outlet, including managing the shop’s social media accounts and processing WhatsApp orders via the designated work phone;
• Oversee cashiers and other in-shop employees, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth sales transactions, and accurate pricing;
• Address customer requests, resolve complaints professionally, guide purchasing decisions, cross-sell products, and introduce new items to customers;
• Monitor shelf stocks, product displays, and the general appearance of the shop;
• Evaluate stock availability and ensure timely reordering of merchandise;
• Implement measures to prevent stock damages, theft, and wastage;
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock rotation for optimal product freshness;
• Analyze market trends and recommend products that appeal to customers in the assigned location;
• Coordinate and supervise vendors and contractors assigned to the retail outlet;
• Train and schedule shifts for new and existing staff members;
• Ensure overall store cleanliness, orderliness, and smooth operations;
• Enforce company policies and standards while ensuring staff compliance;
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on sales, customer service, stock status, and merchandising;
• Monitor and report any equipment or general maintenance issues;
• Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts at the end of each shift;
• Scan goods, issue receipts, refunds, as required, and ensure accurate transaction processing;
• Maintain accountability in financial handling and uphold the company’s reputation by delivering a seamless and efficient shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of OND or equivalent in any related discipline
• At least one year of experience as a retail shop supervisor or a similar role in sales.

Requirements & Skills:

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) software
• Familiarity with electronic equipment like cash registers and POS systems
• Good mathematical skills for handling transactions and reconciling sales
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle pressure and maintain composure, especially during peak hours
• Strong interpersonal and people management skills
• Very important: Commitment to corporate governance and adherence to company policies.

Salary
N100,000 - N130,000 Monthly.
