Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional Chef with outstanding culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence to lead our kitchen operations.
As a Chef, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes.
Your role will include managing kitchen staff, ensuring all food is consistently prepared to the highest standards, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
You will also play an instrumental role in menu creation, cost management, and maintaining inventory control.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fine dining or high-volume kitchen environments, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and cooking of food to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Ensure consistency across all dishes while upholding the integrity of recipes and menu items.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to conceptualize and develop new menus that reflect current culinary trends, seasonal ingredients, and customer preferences, ensuring innovation without compromising quality.
Oversee and lead a team of kitchen professionals, providing mentorship, training, and development. Foster a collaborative work environment that motivates the team to perform at their best and consistently meet production targets.
Maintain rigorous quality control standards by consistently monitoring and evaluating food quality, presentation, and consistency. Ensure that all dishes meet or exceed the restaurant's high standards.
Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and timely ordering of ingredients. Take responsibility for proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste and maintain quality.
Enforce and monitor adherence to health, hygiene, and safety regulations in the kitchen, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with the management team to establish and maintain kitchen budgets, control food costs, minimize waste, and improve efficiency while maintaining food quality.
Occasionally interact with customers to understand their preferences, accommodate special requests, and ensure satisfaction with food quality and service.
Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, culinary innovations, and best practices, incorporating new techniques and ingredients into the menu to elevate the dining experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is required.
Additional certifications in food safety, health, and hygiene are highly desirable.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in high-end or high-volume kitchens, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position.
Proven track record of creating and executing successful menus and managing kitchen staff.
Skills and Expertise:
Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop a high-performing kitchen team.
Strong understanding of inventory control, cost management, and budget planning.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 monthly.
