Job Summary
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized.
This role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support smooth kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans using dishwashing machines or by hand as necessary.
Load and unload dish racks, ensuring dishes are properly arranged for thorough cleaning and drying.
Scrape, rinse, and pre-soak heavily soiled dishes before placing them in the dishwasher to ensure effective cleaning.
Inspect dishes and kitchen tools after washing to ensure they are spotless and free of food residue, re-washing items if needed.
Organize and store clean dishes, utensils, and cookware in designated areas to maintain an orderly kitchen.
Maintain the dishwashing station, keeping it clean, organized, and free of clutter throughout the shift.
Dispose of trash and food waste properly, ensuring garbage bins are emptied and sanitized regularly to prevent odors and pests.
Assist with kitchen cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning sinks, drains, and dishwashing equipment.
Handle and dispose of grease and food waste according to proper waste management procedures.
Maintain the functionality of dishwashing equipment by performing basic maintenance, checking detergent and sanitizer levels, and reporting any malfunctions to the kitchen supervisor or maintenance team.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals, to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.
Work efficiently to keep up with the pace of a busy kitchen, ensuring that clean dishes and utensils are readily available for chefs and servers.
Support kitchen staff by assisting with basic food prep tasks when needed, such as peeling vegetables or assembling ingredients.
Ensure all workstations, including prep areas and dishwashing stations, are properly closed and cleaned at the end of each shift.
Follow all health and safety protocols, including wearing protective gloves and using caution when handling sharp knives and hot surfaces.
Work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, and servers to maintain an efficient and smooth kitchen workflow.
Adapt to last-minute requests and urgent cleaning needs to support kitchen operations during peak hours.
Requirements
Minimum of SSCE certificate
1 year previous experience as a Dishwasher or in a similar kitchen role is a plus but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
Salary
N60,000 - N80,000 monthly.
