Job Summary

• We seek a highly skilled Civil and Structural Engineer specializing in finishing works to oversee and execute high-quality finishing in construction projects. 
• The ideal candidate will ensure structural integrity while delivering aesthetic and functional finishing that meets industry standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to ensure seamless finishing work.
• Collaborate with architects, quantity surveyors, and contractors to align finishing with project specifications.
• Develop detailed work schedules, resource allocation, and cost estimates for finishing stages.
• Oversee finishing activities such as plastering, painting, tiling, ceiling works, cladding, and decorative elements.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress and quality.
• Recommend and evaluate finishing materials for durability, cost-effectiveness, and aesthetic appeal.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement of finishing materials.
• Ensure that finishing work does not compromise the structural stability of buildings.
• Implement innovative and sustainable finishing techniques.
• Resolve finishing-related defects and recommend corrective measures.
• Work closely with clients, interior designers, and contractors to achieve the desired finishing outcome.
• Prepare reports on project progress, quality assessments, and budget compliance.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations during finishing work.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential finishing-related hazards.

Requirements

• Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5–10 years of experience in civil/structural engineering with a focus on finishing works.
• Strong knowledge of finishing materials and techniques.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other structural design software.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Certifications: COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) or a relevant professional certification is an advantage.
• Experience in high-end finishing for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Knowledge of sustainable and modern finishing techniques.
