Job Overview
Our client is in need of a highly motivated and experienced General Manager.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, drive sales, growth, manage financial performance and ensure profitability, ensure excellent customer experience.
They will lead a team, manage budgets, develop sales strategies, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
This role requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a deep understanding of the retail industry.
Responsibilities
Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day store operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements.
Optimize store(s) layout and visual merchandising to enhance customer experience.
Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures to enhance business performance.
Monitor inventory levels and work with suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels.
Sales and Business Development:
Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to optimize sales strategies.
Drive promotional activities and campaigns to attract and retain customers.
Identify new business opportunities to expand revenue streams.
Financial and Budget Management:
Develop and manage the store's budget, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
Control operational costs and reduce waste to maximize profitability.
Monitor and analyze financial reports, sales data, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Team Leadership and Development:
Recruit, train, and manage retail staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment and build a high-performing team.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement staff development programs.
Motivate and lead the team to ensure high levels of customer service and efficiency.
Foster and encourage teamwork and professional growth.
Customer Service, Sales Strategy and Brand management:
Develop and execute sales strategies to attract and retain customers.
Monitor customer feedback and implement strategies to enhance the shopping experience.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues to maintain brand reputation.
Uphold the brand’s reputation and ensure store aesthetics align with brand identity.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
Manage stock levels, oversee replenishment, and reduce shrinkage.
Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely stock availability.
Analyze sales data to determine best-selling products and adjust inventory accordingly.
Marketing and Promotions:
Plan and execute marketing campaigns, in-store promotions, and events to boost sales.
Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance brand presence and customer engagement.
Utilize digital and social media platforms to drive store traffic and sales.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
5 - 10 years’ proven experience in retail management, preferably in a leadership role.
Proven experience as a General Manager, Store Manager, or in a similar retail leadership role.
Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and performance analysis.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong business acumen with a track record of driving sales and profitability.
Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in inventory management, merchandising and sales strategies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapt to changing market trends and make strategic decisions.
Work Conditions:
Full time position with availability for weekends and holidays if necessary.
May require occasional travel for business meetings or store visits.
