The Global Distance Learning Institute, Abuja is an Affiliate of the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN). The GDLN Affiliates are designed to collaborate in holding events that connect people across countries and regions for learning and dialogue on development issues, along with collaboration with best-in-class institutions around the world to offer various training and skills development courses. Under the TNE Programs, students, while resident in Nigeria, enroll as students of foreign Partner Universities undergoing the same academic training and study as students physical at the Partner Universities abroad.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Trans-National Education (TNE) Programs Lead
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Description
An international Institute in Abuja, FCT is desirous of hiring an experienced Trans-National Education (TNE) Programs Lead.
The position provides leadership, management, and guidance to various international academic programs, including strategic planning, development of resources, management of personnel, student recruitment, Academic Evaluation, and feedback of program outputs.
Purpose of Position (Level & Scope of Duties)
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
Manage Trans-National and ODL programs, and team consisting of experienced professionals including lecturers and administrators.
Organize and handle Thesis Proposals and Defense sessions (Both Internal and External).
Handle master’s project, thesis and can teach.
Liaise with Foreign Education Partners
Co-ordination of Faculty teachings and students’ learning administration
Prepare and administer Academic calendars and Semester Timetables
Regular communication and updates to students and faculty
Prepare monthly and quarterly Reports on TNE programs for Top Management
Maintain students’ results and Grades Database, to be submitted to Top Management at the end of every semester
This position requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead program teams in a very dynamic Academic environment.
Minimum Qualifications
At least a Master’s Degree
Understanding Trans-National Education (TNE) - Students enrolled with a foreign University but studying in Nigeria, being taught by Nigeria Faculty accredited by the foreign university
Experience in managing overseas programs is highly desirable
Experience in Thesis/Project Supervision
Experience in preparing and administering Academic calendars and Semester Timetables
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong analytic, effective communication, problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills
Exceptional relational skills as well as the ability to partner effectively both internally and externally
Understanding of academic institutions best practices and standards
Knowledge of academic environment and structure would be beneficial and desirable.
Ability to coordinate a fully integrated communication program including email, social media, website, newsletter, and other methods as necessary.
Skills in content development and utilization towards effective digital marketing and student recruitment
Ability to track performance measures to assess program success.
