Job Title: HR Professional

Description
Our client urgently requires the services of a qualified HR Professional to take charge of its HR operations.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all HR and administrative functions within the company, ensuring compliance with Nigerian labour laws, company policies, and industry best practices.
This role will provide strategic leadership in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, payroll administration, and contract staff management across project sites.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with exceptional organizational skills and a deep understanding of HR practices in a dynamic and project-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Human Resources Management:
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:
Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent, including contract staff for project sites.
Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and company policies in all hiring practices.
Employee Relations:
Act as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution in line with labour laws.
Foster a positive work environment by promoting employee engagement initiatives and maintaining open communication channels.
Performance Management:
Design and implement performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee productivity and alignment with organizational goals.
Provide guidance to line managers on performance improvement plans and career development opportunities.
Training and Development:
Identify training needs and coordinate the delivery of professional development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:
Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements such as PAYE, pension contributions, and NHF deductions.
Conduct periodic benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages.
Policy Development and Compliance:
Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with Nigerian labour laws and industry standards.
Ensure all HR practices adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including the Labour Act, Employee Compensation Act, and other relevant legislation.
Administrative Management:
Office Administration:
Oversee the efficient management of office facilities, supplies, and equipment to support day-to-day operations.
Ensure a safe, secure, and conducive working environment for all employees.
Contract Staff Management:
Manage the recruitment, deployment, and welfare of contract staff across project sites, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and labour laws.
Maintain accurate records of contract staff and ensure timely renewal or termination of contracts as required.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Collaborate with the HSE department to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on project sites and at the office.
Promote a culture of safety and ensure all employees and contract staff are adequately trained on HSE protocols.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
Liaise with external vendors, service providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless administrative operations.
Negotiate and manage contracts for administrative services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Professional certification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) or equivalent is mandatory.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR and administrative experience
Proven experience in managing HR functions for contract staff and project-based teams.
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labour laws, including the Labour Act, Pensions Reform Act, and Industrial Training Fund (ITF) regulations.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
