We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Waste Management Coordinator I
Location: Onne, Rivers
Employment Type: Contract
Main Functions
Oversee the planning, coordination and monitoring of solid and liquid waste management for the Upstream / Downstream Operations environment. Supervise the day-to-day implementation of waste services provision by 3rd party contractors, and provide timely direction and support to ensure Operations waste requirements are met, and overall conformance to Company waste management principles and philosophies is achieved.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Pre-Start-up:
Identify and promote adherence to safe and environmentally compliant work procedures and practices
Support establishment and implementation of work procedures for waste management facilities at
Upstream worksites Plant and Marine Facilities and associated sites
Establish and implement a system of KPI’s and controls to monitor waste contractor performance
Monitor 3rd party contractors implementation of agreed work scope and service delivery
Work with 3rd party contractors to implement waste services that meet and react to Operations needs
Steward the interface between worksite representatives of Operations, Drilling and others as appropriate, to ensure effective management of workgroup needs and expectations specific to waste management services provision
Post-Start-up:
Primary contact point for 3rd party waste contractors and/or Company work groups with regards to waste management
Promote and foster safe work systems and positive behaviors by 3rd party contractors performing waste management services
Develop, implement and report against a contractor performance monitoring and assessment program
Support the Logistics Supervisor to implement work scope change within and/or between contractor entities in support of continuous improvement in waste management efficiencies and services for Operations, Drilling and others as appropriate
Ensure timely, complete and accurate reporting of activities by 3rd party waste services Contractors
Coordinate monthly Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) and waste data reporting and information dissemination between Contractor, Logistics and Environment & Regulatory work group functions
Support the Logistics Supervisor with representation at monthly Contractor/Company interface meetings, quarterly procurement and supply meetings, and other forums as applicable
Support the Logistics Supervisor in the reporting and/or investigation of incidents and high potential consequence near misses
Maintain general awareness of the serviceability, cleanliness, maintenance and utilization of Company assets supplied for contractor use, and where considered to be deficient, steward a response by Contractor and/or escalate as necessary
Monitor contractor facilities and worksites to ensure conformance to minimum workplace standards for housekeeping, hazardous chemicals and waste materials storage and handling, spill response capacity, and other requirements
Support 3rd party contractor and or Operations in the conduct of routine and non-routine environmental measurement verification and monitoring specific to waste management equipment and/or activities
Maintain awareness of Company and 3rd party contractor permits, licenses and other statutory obligations relating to waste management services, equipment and / or activities, in order to verify ongoing compliance
Conduct review and analysis of contractor monthly Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) performance
and operational reports, and provide timely distribution to Logistics Supervisor, Safety, Health and
Environmental SHE team, and others as applicable
Actively support 3rd party contractors in promoting an integrated waste management program, and in delivering workforce communication and/or awareness in support of Companies’ waste management hierarchy (avoid / reduce / reuse/ recycle / dispose)
Execution:
Responsible for the day to day coordination of waste management services by 3rd party contractor entities
Provide interface and guidance to 3rd party contractors on the waste management requirements of
Operations, Drilling and other groups as applicable, so that scheduling, safety, cost efficiency and quality objectives are met
Monitor delivery of 3rd party contractors’ activities and/or services to ensure conformance to approved
Statement of Work (SOW) • Provide specialist advice on waste stream specific waste management
Provide specialist input at meetings: Logistics team meetings, Facility Toolbox meetings, Planning Meetings,
Contractor meetings and workshops
Compliance:
Ensure waste management activities are compliant with all applicable company oi System (oi) standards.
Ensure company Management Of Change Process is adhered to
Liaise closely with Operations, Drilling and other groups as applicable on waste management activities and issues
Liaise closely with Contracts and Procurement Group in the management of waste services contractors and suppliers.
Best Practices:
Actively support implementation of Companies’ waste management hierarchy (avoid / reduce / reuse/ recycle / dispose)
Participate in the continuous improvement of waste management activities and initiatives
Identify and implement new KPI’s for improved monitoring and measurement of 3rd party contractor performance.
Cost Control:
Review and validate 3rd party contractor invoices prior to submitting to the Contract Administrator for approval for payment
Review / identify opportunities for improved cost efficiency specific to waste management services
Forecast future Project waste service requirements to support budget development and cost division SSHE
Communicate Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) requirements to 3rd party waste contractors to ensure understanding of security, safety, health and environmental concerns associated with waste management services at Company-controlled worksites
Lead by example through demonstrating regular, proactive use of the safety management and loss prevention tools
Demonstrate safety leadership with continuous commitment to safe workplace behavior and work conduct.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Applies Science, Environmental Management, or equivalent
Safety leadership qualifications or certifications
Incident investigation training (i.e. Taproot).
Experience:
Experience in environmental management and /or waste management, with remote experience preferred
Experience within a large corporation or complex organizational setting
Experience supervising contractors within a dynamic, challenging and/or unpredictable environment
Experience in the operation of waste facilities (waste processing equipment and landfills)
Experience in the environmental monitoring of waste facilities and activities (including water, air, noise emissions).
Competencies:

Cultural sensitivity
Understanding of Company and worksite-specific endeavors for best practice waste management
Work in extreme and remote environments
Ability to interface professionally with 3rd party contractors, suppliers and end users/receivers of services

Knowledge of safety management tools and processes. (i.e. Step back 5x5, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment)
Understanding and knowledge of local waste regulations and permitting
Good working knowledge of landfill operational practices, and waste handling, treatment and disposal processes
Good knowledge of environmental aspect.
Specific Requirements:
Bachelor of Science or Higher National Diploma in Engineering or Sciences
5+ years relevant oil & gas industry experience
Experience in waste management, logistics & transportation
Behavioural expectations: Strong Team Player, Good Communication skills (written and verbal), Good
Coordination and Collaboration skills, Good Technical, Problem solving and Analytical skills
5+ years broad knowledge and experience with
Experience in waste management, logistics & transportation
Ability to work in outdoor environment and handle physically demanding tasks.
