We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Officer - Local Manufacturing (AfCDC)
The Senior Supply Chain Officer – Local Manufacturing will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating critical market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making within the supply chain.
Specific Responsibilities
Conduct market research on vaccine input materials trade barriers, challenges in custom procedures and policies when input materials move for member states to other member state or from international supplies to member states
Perform feasibility analysis of local manufacturing of input materials manufacturing in the continent
Carry out market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers of input materials for vaccine and other health products manufacturing Africa.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers, pricing information, and market trends of input materials/ raw materials and packing materials
Quantify input materials needs for vaccine and other health products manufacturing in the continent i.e. needs of manufacturers in Africa
Analyze input materials market risks and disruptions and propose mitigation strategies.
Support the development of pooled procurement, buying consortium, regional warehousing initiative to enhance vaccine materials access in the continent
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate market intelligence findings to stakeholders.
Support the development and implementation of pooled procurement strategies for input materials need of African vaccine and other heath product needs
Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the global health commodity market.
Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience
Master's Degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field with 7 Years of experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field with 10 years of experience vaccine or other health products manufacturing plant.
Proven experience with raw materials sourcing, distribution, and storage
Experience with strategic planning and project management:
Organizational skills including attention to detail and effective management of tasks
Exposure to international organizations and the public sector is a plus.
Required Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in any of the AU working languages (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese and Spanish) and working knowledge in other AU Languages will be an added advantage.
Ability to initiate and identify key strategic opportunities and risks.

Excellent diplomatic and communication skills, with experience engaging stakeholders and decision-makers in professional and technical settings
Demonstrated project planning and management skills for organizing, planning and executing projects from conception through implementation
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, email, and internet applications, with experience using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.

Tenure of Appointment:
The Appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of one (1) year, of which the first three (3) months will be considered as a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract may be renewed for a similar period subject to funding availability, satisfactory performance and agreed deliverables.

Remuneration
The salary attached to the position is an annual lump-sum of US$ 96,921.34 (P3 Step 5) inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff, and US$ 78,461.08 inclusive of all allowances for locally recruited staff of the African Union.
