Job Title: Driver

Job Purpose
The Drivers will provide driving services and manage the haulage vehicles.
The drivers will ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, adhere to safety standards and provide logistics services as needed.
This role requires a high level of professionalism, punctuality and teamwork.
Job Description
Ensure timely and efficient transport of haulage truck with goods to and from destinations.
Daily cleaning of the truck/vehicle and general check to ascertain the condition of the vehicle.
Adhere to all road regulations and traffic laws at all times.
Ensure that the Truck is always fueled and ready for use.
Maintain the cleanliness and proper upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
Interact with staff and clients in a professional and courteous manner.
Conduct daily cleaning of the vehicle and perform general checks to assess its condition.
Ensure day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, including minor repairs, oil changes, and checks on tires, brakes, and other essential components.
Maintain and update all required documents and supplies, such as vehicle insurance, logs, office directory, and tool kits.
Ensure the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
Implement security measures for the vehicle, including proper parking, key storage, and emergency supplies.
Verify that all safety kits (e.g., fire extinguisher, triangular caution sign, first aid kit) are present in the vehicle and up to date.
Take immediate and appropriate action in case of accidents, following all relevant rules and regulations.
Ensuring that loaded goods are delivered intact, without damage or incidents and reporting any accidents or delays.
Schedule and monitor regular vehicle service appointments and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Ability to operate different vehicle types, including pickup trucks, vans, and 6-tire or heavy-duty truck.
Perform any additional tasks as assigned by your line manager
Competencies Required
Minimum of Secondary School Certificate qualification.
An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) is preferred.
2 - 7 years previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or driving role.
Ability to operate different vehicle types, including pickup trucks, vans, and 6-tire or heavy-duty trucks.
A valid driver’s license and at least two year of driving experience is required.
Long distance driving
A good knowledge and understanding of vehicle mechanics and the ability to carry out minor vehicle maintenance.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills (spoken) in English, Yoruba, English, and any Nigerian language.
Proficient in safe driving, route planning and adhering to traffic laws with a clean driving record.
Knowledgeable about safety protocols, equipped to handle emergencies, and skilled in troubleshooting vehicle issues.
Time management and organizational skills to keep track of deliverables and stay on schedule.
Collaborative, organized, and capable of providing administrative assistance while working effectively with other staff.
