Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited was incorporated in December 2009 with the business objective of providing financial service to micro clients who were excluded from the mainstream financial system. It commenced operations in June 2010 upon obtaining a Unit Microfinance Banking License from the Central Bank of Nigeria. It later obtained a State Microfinance Banking License in 2016. Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited’s financial inclusion effort focuses on promoting savings culture, access to credit facilities for income-generation purposes and reducing vulnerability to risk through micro insurance.
The Bank’s major strategic focus employs the group lending methodology in its operations with a leaning towards women. It believes in the commitment of women folk to work hard and help their families conquer poverty. As such, more than 95% of the Bank’s lending activities focuses on women. The success of the bank’s group lending activities largely depends on group solidarity and cohesion.

Job Title: Risk & Partnership Management Officer

Description
We are seeking for an experienced Risk & Partnership Management Officer.
The ideal candidate will lead efforts in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks while fostering strategic partnerships to support our mission of financial inclusion and organizational growth.
This role demands a proactive leader with expertise in risk management, compliance, and relationship-building, capable of building a resilient framework to serve our unique micro-client base effectively.
Develop and execute risk management and partnership strategies aligned with Bosak Microfinance Bank’s goals of financial inclusion, client empowerment, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with senior management to identify workforce and partnership needs that support the bank’s growth in serving micro-clients and expanding outreach.
Design and implement policies that reflect the bank’s core values of simplicity, professionalism, and respect.
Risk Identification & Mitigation:
Proactively identify emerging risks in a timely manner and implement an effective early warning system, reviewed at least quarterly.
Assess risks and develop mitigation measures to improve preparedness for unexpected challenges.
Partnership Development:
Cultivate relationships with fintech companies, payment platforms, and community stakeholders to enhance Bosak’s online presence and funding opportunities.
Compliance & Control:
Ensure adherence to Nigerian labor laws, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations, and microfinance industry standards.
Evaluate the effectiveness of controls to minimize fraud and operational disruptions, maintaining accurate records of risk assessments.
Operational Oversight:
Manage day-to-day risk and partnership operations,and audits of at least one unit per quarter.
Perform ad hoc assignments as directed by management to ensure operational continuity.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certification is an advantage.
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Risk management, Enterprise risk oversight, or partnership development, with exposure to Microfinance or financial services.
Strong understanding of microfinance operations, including digital lending, group methodologies, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent leadership and analytical skills to address complex risk challenges.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with online banking security processes.
Passion for financial inclusion, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, and commitment to fostering a growth-oriented workplace.
