Job Title: POS Business Support Officer

Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive POS Support Officer to join our POS support team.
In this role, you will provide technical support and maintenance for our Point of Sale (POS) systems across all locations, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing system downtime.
You will work closely with other IT staff, vendors, and store managers to troubleshoot issues, perform system upgrades, and implement effective solutions for any POS-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities
POS System Support:
Provide technical support for all POS hardware and software issues.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve POS-related problems (including hardware, software, and network connectivity issues).
Install, configure, and update POS software and hardware components.
System Maintenance & Upgrades:
Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure the POS systems are functioning efficiently.
Ensure POS software is up-to-date with the latest patches and updates.
Assist in system migrations, software rollouts, and POS hardware upgrades as necessary.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
Respond promptly to system errors and failures, minimizing downtime.
Analyze and diagnose root causes of recurring POS issues and recommend preventive measures.
Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting support for POS systems across various locations.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Collaborate with the IT team and other departments to implement and maintain POS-related infrastructure.
Work with vendors to escalate issues that require specialized support.
Train staff on POS software and hardware usage and ensure effective troubleshooting techniques.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
Generate regular reports on the status of POS systems, including downtime, maintenance, and performance metrics.
Assist with developing internal documentation for POS system operation and troubleshooting guides.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure POS systems comply with company security protocols, including data protection and PCI DSS standards.
Monitor and manage user access control to POS systems, ensuring proper authorization levels.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in IT support, with a focus on POS systems (2+ years preferred).
Strong understanding of POS hardware, software, and network configurations.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Knowledge of POS software (such as NCR, Verifone, or similar platforms) and hardware.
Experience with system diagnostics, upgrades, and maintenance procedures.
Basic networking knowledge, including LAN/WAN configurations and troubleshooting.
Good communication skills to interact with non-technical staff and vendors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
Familiarity with retail environments and the operations of a POS system.
Working Conditions:
Occasional travel to various store locations.
Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.
