Job Title: Head of Operations
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Summary
The Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the company, including logistics, supply chain management, warehousing, and distribution.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve business objectives, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management: Oversee logistics and supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
Distribution and Delivery: Manage the distribution and delivery of products to customers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
Warehouse Management: Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory management, storage, and security.
Team Management: Lead and manage a team of operations staff, including supervisors, logistics coordinators, and warehouse staff.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards, and implement quality control measures to prevent defects and errors.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, finance) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, customers, regulatory bodies).
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Operational Efficiency: Improve operational efficiency by reducing costs, improving productivity, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Customer Satisfaction: Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and efficient delivery of products.
Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards, with minimal defects and errors.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, with minimal incidents and accidents.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage operational budgets within agreed-upon limits and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Degree in a relevant field: A Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience: Experience in operations management, logistics, or a related field, preferably in the agricultural inputs industry.
Strong leadership and management skills: Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in team management and development.
Operational expertise: Strong operational expertise, including experience in logistics, supply chain management, and warehousing.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and interpretation.
Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder management and negotiation.
