Job Title: Gender and MHPSS Assistant

Job Description
Conduct an analysis of the experiences, risks, and challenges for children - girls and boys, including disabled children and IDPs in the targeted states/communities.
Conduct mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and gender assessments at regular intervals.
Support the team to identify and address the difficult issues of Mental illness, Child Sexual Abuse (CSA), and Gender-based violence (GBV) through culturally acceptable and age-appropriate content and highlighting the key role parents can play in protecting their children from CSA and GBV and responding to abuse.
Support the team in establishing and strengthening referral mechanisms and linkages between the communities and health facilities for MHPSS and gender-based violence, including implementation ofclinicalpathways for the treatment of sexual assault survivors.
Contribute to the documentation and dissemination of project efforts, achievements, lessons learned, and innovations within PHI and to the larger Nigerian and global community, as appropriate.
Support the Facilitation of capacity development for community volunteers, child protection committees, and other key stakeholders on gender integration and child protection.
Monitor andevaluateprogram performance on gender-related goals and objectives and contribute content for internal and external reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in Psychology, Social Work, Gender Studies, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Gender and MHPSS programs, preferably in IDP settings.
Strong understanding of MHPSS, gender equality, GBV prevention and response, and psychosocial support principles, especially in crisis-affected communities.
Familiarity with international guidelines such as IASC MHPSS Guidelines, WHO Mental Health Guidelines, and GBV Minimum Standards in humanitarian settings.
Experience in designing and executing MHPSS and gender-focused interventions for vulnerable populations, including IDPs.
Proven ability to manage cases, engage stakeholders, and collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations working with displaced populations
