Bookkeeping Officer at the Dog Food Shop Limited

The Dog Food Shop Limited is a bulk distribution/retail project for food and non-food products for pet animals.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Bookkeeping Officer

Location: Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Make numerous daily computations, to update and maintain accounting records;
• Records daily financial transactions and maintains accurate ledgers;
• Handles petty cash transactions and reconciliations;
• Prepare invoices for billing, including totaling numbers, adding dates, and verifying financial data;
• Verifies receipts and makes payments to the bank through cash or cheque;
• Compile data from shop supervisors to ma tch records on digital sales system for reconciliation;
• Track and oversee overdue accounts;
• Prepare tax reports and monthly invoice statements;
• Assists in payroll processing and ensure proper documentation of salary payments;
• Verifies accuracy of transactions and makes sure they are correctly entered in ledgers;
• Develops daily and monthly financial and statistical reports for management;
• Process account receivables and payables;
• Manage inventory/stock system;
• Assist with internal audits and provide necessary financial documentation;
• Support the accounts team with additional accounting tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an OND in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines;
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a bookkeeper.

Requirements & Skills:

• Essential data entry experience for starters;
• Skilled in using MS Office and popular accounting software.
• Eye for detail;
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
• Integrity and confidentiality;
• In-depth knowledge of necessary bookkeeping procedures, best practices, and terminology;
• Able to work as a team player;
• Open to development of skills and knowledge;
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change;
• Excellent customer service;
• Preference for applicant resident in Surulere or environs.

Salary
N100,000 - N130,000 monthly.
