Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Lagos
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Summary
The Project Engineer will play a key role within the company Engineering Team. The role will be to plan, design, construct, commission & modify / abandon approved Oil & Gas infrastructural facilities in support of the company’s business.
To complete engineering projects within approved budgets, required standards, and timeframe.
The job holder will also coordinate all technical activities on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering projects; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and the company standards, as well as costs, time and quality.
Manage contractors and suppliers as well as all activities associated with delivering a high-quality project as measured by industry KPI’s and metrics for projects of a similar size and complexity.
Develop and maintain project execution plan to ensure successful project delivery with respect to HSE, Schedule, Quality and cost
Deliver all reports, data and information concerning the progress of the development of the project within the agreed timeframe and frequency.
Ensure that all HSE issues have been addressed, and systems are developed to manage HSE consent in line with the company HSE policy.
Prepare and implement project quality assurance and quality control plans.
Liaise with community relation department in resolving community related issues on a project.
Develop and maintain project interface management plan to effectively integrate project phases and stake holders’ interest
Develop and maintain a risk and opportunity register to mitigate negative impact and maximise opportunity
Interface with Government Regulatory authorities (NUPRC &NMDPRA) and ensure all approvals, permits and consents required to execute and complete the project are obtained as when due
Interface with JV Partners on all JV related project to secure approval and 100% cost recovery
Interface with contract and procurement department, secure CTB (Contracts Tender Board) approval for contracts awards and service orders to facilitate project execution.
Job Context and Challenges
Managing changes in project sequence; Management of interface between various contractors and vendors at site. Responding to changes in project requirements.
Delivery of assigned project engineering works (pipelines, flow station upgrade, modification works ,green field project etc.) on time and within budget
Meeting the objectives set by the Statement of Requirements
Maintaining a good interface with other departments
Contribute to HSE and Security objectives set for the project
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years in project engineering in Oil and Gas industry.
Dimension:
Capable of delivering a project up to US$ 20million.
Relationships:
Internal: Project Manager, Engineering Interface Managers, Head of Discipline Engineering, Asset integrity Manager, Piping Engineer, Process engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, Electrical Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, Corrosion Engineer, Cost Engineer.
External: C&P, HSE, COMMUNITY RELATION, NMDPRA, NUPRC,JV Partners.
