Job Description

• We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with 3 to 5 years of experience in managing financial operations for hotels and serviced apartments.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and financial analysis to ensure the smooth financial operations of both hotel properties and serviced apartments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for hotels and serviced apartments, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
• Assist with the creation and management of annual budgets for the properties, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Prepare financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow) for management review.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including deductions and benefits.
• Manage tax reporting and compliance, ensuring all statutory tax obligations are met.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents, identifying discrepancies and providing solutions.
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to management to optimize revenue and reduce costs.
• Monitor operational expenses and provide recommendations for cost control measures across the hotel and serviced apartments.
• Liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the financial assets of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on hospitality (hotels and serviced apartments).
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP), and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of Nigerian tax laws, regulations, and accounting practices.
• Solid experience in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in managing financial operations across multiple properties is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with hospitality-specific financial management, such as revenue management and operational cost analysis.

Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 / Month.
