Job Title: Deputy Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Who You Are

• We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Operations Manager to oversee our warehousing, haulage, and last-mile delivery operations. 
• The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in optimizing logistics and supply chain processes, driving operational efficiencies, and leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• As the Senior Operations Manager, you will play a key role in streamlining the end-to-end experience of Users of the Kwik platform, including independent logistics providers and merchants, ensuring that Users can move goods in a timely and cost-efficient manner while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. 
• You will leverage technology to enhance process automation, improve operational scalability, and reduce costs.

What You'll Do

• Operational Leadership: Lead the day-to-day operations of the warehousing, haulage, and last-mile delivery network under the direct responsibility of the company’s COO. Oversee the entire supply chain process to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products.
• Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse management, transportation, and last-mile delivery. Continuously improve delivery times, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Supply Chain Optimization: Identify inefficiencies within the warehousing, haulage, and last-mile processes and implement improvements. Use data analytics to drive operational decisions and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers, warehouse supervisors, drivers, and logistics personnel. Ensure effective training, performance evaluation, and resource allocation across all teams.
• Technology Integration: Collaborate with the technology teams to implement cutting-edge tools, platforms, and software that streamline operations and enhance overall service delivery. Advocate for automation, AI-driven insights, and optimization algorithms to improve efficiency.
• Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, warehouse providers, and other external partners. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Budgeting & Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for warehousing, haulage, and last-mile operations. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to optimize resource allocation.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards related to warehousing, transportation, and last-mile delivery. Proactively manage risks and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Customer Experience: Oversees the customer experience teams and ensuring speedy resolutions of the delivery issues and enhance the customer experience. Address escalations and ensure customer satisfaction is always maintained.

Requirements

• BA / B.Sc Degree in Social Sciences, Operations, or equivalent practical experience. MBA or relevant post-graduate education is an added advantage
• 15+ years of experience managing operations to ensure the lowest-cost and on-time service delivery
• Strategic thinker, process driven and hands on approach to solving operational challenges
• Ability to take initiative and be flexible in a constantly changing work environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong knowledge of excel/google sheets and ease with a variety of tech platforms and reporting
• Tech enthusiasts with dexterity in using digital products
