PCA started breaking ground with huge capital investments in the Power and Infrastructure sector, which then led to the successful commissioning of turnkey projects in Power Transmission & Distribution, Generation, Rural Electrification, Solar Mini Grids, and Operations and Maintenance.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Site Engineer - Civil Engineering

Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Benue
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Project Site Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for overseeing and managing all civil engineering aspects of substation construction projects. 
• This includes site preparation, foundation works, structural installations, and ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines
• The engineer will coordinate with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Execution:

• Oversee civil construction activities at the substation site, including excavation, foundation works, concrete structures, and building construction.
• Ensure construction aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any technical issues.

Project Planning & Coordination:

• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and other engineering teams for smooth integration of civil works with overall substation construction.
• Assist in project scheduling, material procurement, and workforce planning.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.

Quality Control & Compliance:

• Implement quality assurance measures to maintain construction integrity.
• Ensure adherence to relevant construction codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct material testing and inspections as required.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:

• Enforce safety regulations and best practices to prevent accidents on site.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure proper use of PPE by workers.
• Ensure environmental protection measures are in place during construction activities.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports, work logs, and material usage.
• Prepare and submit reports on work progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Assist in resolving technical queries and providing engineering solutions on-site.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in civil engineering construction, preferably in power substations, infrastructure, or heavy civil projects.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
• Knowledge of structural analysis, foundation design, and reinforced concrete works.
• Familiarity with relevant construction codes and standards.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Preferred Certifications:

• COREN, NSE, or equivalent professional engineering certification is an advantage.
• HSE certification is a plus.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 monthly.
