Job Description

• As a Lead Engineer, you will be at the core of our technology decisions, co-ordinating the engineering team in designing, building, and scaling our product and infrastructure.
• This is a hands-on leadership role, where you’ll balance coding, architecture decisions, and mentorship to drive technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team in designing and developing robust backend services using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Own architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency in our systems.
• Design and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs for AI-powered applications.
• Oversee data pipelines, ETL workflows, and large-scale processing systems.
• Collaborate closely with ML engineers, data scientists, and product teams to integrate AI models into production.
• Define and enforce best coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows.
• Work with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) to design efficient storage and retrieval mechanisms.
• Build and optimize asynchronous, event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery.
• Ensure high availability and fault tolerance with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Mentor and grow the engineering team, fostering a strong engineering culture.
• Make key decisions on scalability, security, and system design.

Required Qualifications

• Candidates should possess Bachelor's Degrees
• 7+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise in Javascript, and Python ( plus related frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and scalable backend design.
• Experience working with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AI/ML model deployment and MLOps.
• Background in real-time data processing and streaming architectures.
• Familiarity with serverless computing and event-driven design.
• Prior experience scaling a product from MVP to production.
