Job Title: Data Analyst (Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis)
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Project: IMPAACT4HIV
Reports to: Associate Director Strategic Information and Data Management
Background
Our not-for-profit is supported by Unitaid and in collaboration with the National AIDS and STIs Control Program (NASCP), is spearheading the implementation of pediatric AHD services across four states in Nigeria.
This initiative aims to improve access to comprehensive care for children living with HIV and facing advanced disease progression.
A critical first step in this project was the baseline assessment of 21 healthcare facilities, strategically selected by national and state-level health ministries.
The assessment was conducted to evaluate the diagnostic capacity, clinical protocols, infrastructure, and supply chain systems necessary for implementing the I4HIV strategy and the WHO STOP AIDS care package.
The information gathered through this process will be instrumental in monitoring the progress of the initiative and ensuring that facilities are equipped to meet the specific needs of pediatric HIV patients.
Hence the need for the engagement of a data analysis to conduct a detailed analysis of baseline data collected from 21 health facilities to generate actionable insights that will inform program planning, implementation, and decision-making.
Job Description and Scope of Work
The data analysts will be responsible for:
Conducting a comprehensive analysis of both qualitative and quantitative baseline data.
Cleaning and preparing datasets for analysis.
Performing descriptive and inferential statistical analysis for quantitative data.
Conducting thematic analysis for qualitative data.
Developing data visualization and summary tables to present findings effectively.
Drafting an analytical report detailing key findings, trends, and recommendations.
Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to validate findings.
Ensuring data confidentiality and adherence to ethical considerations.
Duration and Location:
The engagement will last for a total of 10 working days.
The analysts will be based in Abuja.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Proven experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, R, or Python for quantitative analysis.
Experience with qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti
Strong report writing and data visualization skills.
Excellent understanding of health programs and health facility-based data.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
