Ades was incorporated in 2004 and has been trading in the Royal Borough of Greenwich since then. Firstly as distributors of dried and smoked fish, and in 2006 the company expanded into selling catering supplies before opening the Cash & Carry in 2007. The company is managed by a dedicated team with extensive experience in the food industry and has maintained an excellent reputation in the industry over many years.

Our aim is to make top quality African and Caribbean foods and drinks accessible and affordable to consumers in and around London, the United Kingdom and in the EU.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Job Type: On-site

Summary

  • As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we seek a skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team, to drive growth and expand our market presence. 
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and developing strategic plans to achieve revenue targets. 
  • This role requires a proactive approach to market research, networking, and sales strategy execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies to drive revenue growth and expand the customer base.
  • Expand market presence by introducing and scaling new products, driving business growth.
  • Identify and research new market opportunities, including potential clients, partnerships, and expansion areas.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry professionals.
  • Develop and present compelling business proposals, pitches, and presentations to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals that align with company objectives and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of business objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Track and report on sales performance, revenue targets, and business development activities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tools.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
