Job Description

• We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineers, Maintenance and Mechanical Technicians to join our dynamic mining operations team. 
• The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of mining and processing equipments, with a special focus on jaw crushers. 
• You will be expected to oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and work collaboratively with the operations team to optimize performance and reduce downtime.

Responsibilities
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:

• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for jaw crushers and associated mechanical systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical failures to minimize operational disruptions.

Equipment Oversight:

• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of new jaw crusher equipment.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

• Provide on-site technical support during breakdowns or system malfunctions, utilizing diagnostic tools to identify issues quickly.
• Work closely with suppliers to resolve warranty claims and procure replacement parts.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Prepare and submit reports on equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and improvement initiatives.

Process Improvement:

• Analyze data from maintenance logs and operational metrics to recommend improvements in equipment performance and maintenance practices.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and longevity of jaw crushers and other critical machinery.

Team Collaboration and Training:

• Train junior maintenance staff on best practices and standard operating procedures for equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, safety, and engineering to ensure alignment on maintenance strategies.
• Work with fellow department mate and unit head to ensure overall efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, trade test or Apprenticeship training and verifiable working experience.
• 1-3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the mining or heavy industry sectors, a proven track record in jaw crusher maintenance will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of mining equipment, particularly jaw crushers, including design, operation, and common failure modes.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and process improvements.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and health & safety regulations in mining operations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
