Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lawyer with 10-13 years of active post-call experience to join our legal team. 
• The ideal candidate will provide expert legal services, manage complex legal matters, and offer strategic advisory support to clients. 
• This role requires excellent advocacy, research, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Representation:

• Provide sound legal advice and strategic counsel to clients on corporate, commercial, litigation, and regulatory matters.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) forums.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on diverse legal issues.

Corporate & Commercial Law:

• Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and company secretarial matters.
• Oversee corporate transactions, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, and business structuring.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian laws, regulations, and industry-specific guidelines.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution:

• Handle high-profile and complex litigation cases, ensuring strong case strategy and representation.
• Prepare and file court processes, motions, and briefs in line with legal best practices.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and mediation to resolve disputes efficiently.

Regulatory & Compliance:

• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure clients’ compliance with relevant laws and policies.
• Keep abreast of legal developments and advise on their implications for clients and business operations.

Leadership & Team Collaboration:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior lawyers and legal officers.
• Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve strategic legal objectives.
• Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

• LL. B (Hons) from a recognized university and B.L from the Nigerian Law School.
• Minimum of 10-13 years of active post-call legal experience.
• Strong expertise in corporate/commercial law, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., NBA, IBA) is an added advantage.
