We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Foreman / Lead Welder / Fitter
Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Contract
Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of welders and fitters, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that all team members are working safely and efficiently.
Project Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinated welding and fabrication projects, including reviewing blueprints and specifications, estimating materials and labour requirements, and scheduling work.
Quality Control: Ensure that all welding and fabrication work meets quality standards, including inspecting work, identifying defects, and implementing corrective actions.
Safety Management: Ensure that all welding and fabrication work is performed safely, including implementing safety procedures, conducting safety training, and enforcing safety regulations.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all welding and fabrication equipment is properly maintained, including performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and scheduling repairs.
Communication and Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with other departments, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members, including mentoring, coaching, and training programs.
Requirements
HND, B.Tech or B.Eng in Engineering or related discipline.
Experience: Have 5 -10 years of experience in welding and fabrication work, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Leadership and Supervisory Skills: Possess strong leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to motivate and direct team members
Trade Qualification: Hold a recognized trade qualification in welding and fabrication, such as a certificate or diploma in welding and fabrication or a related field.
Technical Knowledge: Possess a strong technical knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
Responsible for setting up and dismantling rigging for loading and offloading equipment and materials. Ensures load safety and compliance with industry standards.
