We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chartered Accountant

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Ag.GM/Head of Business

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to join our finance team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and compliance within the leasing company.
  • S/he will ensure accuracy in financial transactions, analyze financial data, and provide strategic insights to drive business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant accounting standards.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Manage financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Taxation & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors to facilitate audits and regulatory filings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial laws and tax policies affecting the leasing industry.

Risk & Internal Controls:

  • Develop and implement financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to leasing operations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and financial best practices.

Leasing & Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis on lease transactions and assess the profitability of leasing portfolios.
  • Support the evaluation of credit risk and debt financing for lease agreements.
  • Work closely with operations department to provide financial insights on lease structuring.

Audit & Financial Strategy:

  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Support strategic financial planning and investment decisions.
  • Drive financial process improvements and efficiency across the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAN or equivalent certification) is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in leasing, financial services, or asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Compliance with tax regulations and audit standards.
  • Efficiency in budgeting and cost control.
  • Effective implementation of financial risk management strategies.
  • Contribution to overall financial performance and profitability of leasing operations.
